WHAT IS NABS?

The North American Burn Society (NABS) is a professional organization dedicated to encouraging camaraderie among burn and wound care professionals, by providing an informal forum for the exchange of information on the science and practice of burn and wound care. Examples of past topics include prevention, research, critical care, surgical techniques, physical therapy and new products/technologies.

Formed in 1983, NABS’ goal was to share information and help improve care for patients with burn injuries. Since that time, NABS has held its annual conference at a mountain ski resort chosen by the society’s president-elect. The conference provides an intimate and relaxed forum for the presentation of topics pertinent to the burn and wound care professional, as well as the young investigator. The conference also serves as a platform for burn care manufacturers to introduce new products, share clinical experiences, and learn what new technologies are needed.
