NABS & Telluride: A Perfect Combo

For the 40th Annual meeting of the North American Burn Society, we had to come up with someplace special to celebrate. Watch the video below to see why NABS picked one of the most breathtaking winter resorts in North America to host the 2022 NABS Conference.

*NABS would like to give a big THANK YOU to Sonoran Living host Terri Ouelette and ABC15 (KNXV TV) in Phoenix, Arizona for this excellent, informative video on Telluride.

Take a 4-minute break… in the mountains

French cameraman Nicolas Gaillard is establishing himself as one of the best drone pilots in the world. So when he was invited on a trip to North America by fellow Frenchman and professional skier Richard Permin, “it was a dream opportunity,” he writes.

This video includes footage of Permin as well as fellow Dynastar team athletes Conor Pelton, Sander Hadley, and Megan Dingman taking on the terrain of Snowbird, Utah, and the backcountry around Telluride, Colorado. It also showcases stunning footage of the Utah desert near Moab, the Great Salt Lake, and shots from Switzerland.

In short, the music and cinematography is dream-like and beautiful. But don’t take our word for it, watch it now and fantasize that you’re watching yourself.

Smart choices and safe choices are the only way to maneuver through a global pandemic. That’s just what the North American Burn Society accomplished this year. After months of planning, cancellations, re-grouping, re-planning, countless alterations, and last-second changes, the LIVE 2021 NABS Conference was a HUGE success! Held March 27th thru April 1st in Big Sky, Montana, President Courtney Hymel and her team successfully hosted one of the most memorable conferences in NABS’ 39-year history.

Strictly following COVID-19 guidelines set forth by the Center for Disease Control, as well as state & local officials, 68 attendees (6 virtual) and 16 sponsors enjoyed a variety of highly informative burn-related presentations, along with great skiing conditions that included many fun runs. Non-skiing participants enjoyed other outings such as snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ziplining, snow-go biking, mountain hiking and even an escape room. Photos of this year’s conference are forthcoming. Don’t forget to check out the Sponsors page on this website too. Without their commitment and generosity, this conference would not have been possible. Be sure to Thank your local representative the next time you see them!
